What we make
Everything starts as rough lumber and leaves finished by hand. Pick a piece below, or bring us something we've never built before.
V-carved or raised lettering, hand-painted and sealed for the dock or the front door. Family names, addresses, cabin rules, business signs, wedding signs — your words, routed deep into real wood.

No two are alike — every piece is cut, carved, and finished for one customer.
How it works
A simple, four-step order. We confirm the details before a single cut is made.
A sign, a cribbage board, or a custom idea. Tell us what you have in mind.
Wood, size, names, dates, the lake. Send a sketch or photo if you've got one.
You approve a proof, then it's cut, carved, and finished — usually in 2–3 weeks.
Packed safe and shipped anywhere, or grab it locally in the Twin Cities.
Why Lakeside
We work in solid hardwood — never veneer, never MDF — and finish every piece the way we'd want it on our own dock.
What folks say
The lake sign on our cabin gets a compliment from every guest. Carving is crisp and it's held up through two winters already.
— Karen H., Brainerd LakesOrdered a three-track board with my dad's name and our family crest. He teared up. Pegs slide like butter.
— Mike R., Saint PaulSent a rough sketch for an address sign and they nailed it on the first proof. Fast, friendly, beautiful work.
— Dana L., Lake VermilionPricing
Final price depends on wood, size, and detail. Every order gets a firm quote before you commit a dollar.
Questions
Most signs and boards are finished within 2–3 weeks from the time you approve the proof. Larger or highly detailed pieces can take a little longer — we'll always tell you up front.
Yes. Outdoor pieces are built from weather-friendly woods and sealed with a marine-grade finish made to handle sun, rain, and snow. A quick re-coat every few years keeps them looking new.
Absolutely. Email a sketch, photo, or file and we'll work it into a proof for your approval before cutting anything.
Both. We ship carefully packed orders nationwide, and Twin Cities customers are welcome to pick up in Saint Paul.
Walnut, maple, cherry, and white oak are our standards. If you're after something specific, ask — we can often source it.
Ready when you are
